How we relax – our personal tips!
Dear Guests,
we are delighted to welcome you to Waldkirch – a place perfectly suited for short and long getaways. The Black Forest offers peace, strength, and adventure, and we warmly invite you to experience its diversity for yourselves.
Our personal power spot is the Kandel. We prefer to ascend via the Damenpfad and follow the Zweitälersteig on the descent. A view from the Thomashütte or a break at the Fensterliwirt are a must for us. For sporty variety, we also hop on our mountain bikes. The Damenpfad is particularly appealing as a trail descent – with consideration for hikers. A pure MTB trail is the “Woody”, which ends above the Stadtrainsee. With the road bike, we love the loop over the Kandel to St. Märgen, then towards Hexenlochmühle, via Wildgutach to Simonswald and back. A challenging route for body and mind. And if we’re in the mood for speed, we get on our motorcycles. Our favorite tour: from Elzach via Schonach and Furtwangen onto the B500 – including wonderful curves and magnificent views. Tip: Cake at the Landfrauen-Café in St. Märgen – with luck, your leather suit might even fit afterwards!
If possible, explore the Black Forest during the week – then you’ll have it (almost) all to yourselves. And when you return to the “Storchennest”, we look forward to hearing your stories.
